Job Description:

Rocky Mountain Engineering and Surveying (RMES), located in Pocatello, ID, is hiring a self-motivated Civil Designer who is proficient with Civil 3D software. This is an opportunity for a dynamic candidate to work on a wide variety of challenging projects and expand their technical knowledge and experience. Responsibilities will be to provide management and support for all phases of planning and construction of civil engineering projects such as site surveys, preliminary budgets, scheduling, construction, on-site observation and inspection. The primary responsibility will be the production of plans for various projects, including site layouts, site grading design, and utility layout and design. Candidate must be proficient at preparing civil construction drawings in Civil 3D and coordination of many facets of a civil design project.

The successful employee will work on a wide variety of challenging projects with growth opportunities based upon their individual competency, attitude, and commitment. Civil Designers work in a close knit team environment with growth opportunity in an expanding company.

Qualifications:

The successful candidates should have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment or independently on projects and have a minimum of three to five years of Civil 3D experience. The successful candidate will be proficient in preparing and drafting Civil Engineering Improvement Plans including Utility and Grading Designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D. An Associate’s Degree in Drafting or Civil Engineering Technology is preferred. Applicants may be required to demonstrate CAD knowledge and ability, and if hired, may be required to travel up to 10 days per month.

RMES staff accomplishes a wide range of projects including roadway design, utility designs, site development and subdivisions. Our scope of services typically include site planning, environmental analysis, storm drainage studies, entitlement and permit coordination, and full civil design of site grading, drainage, storm detention, utilities, access roads, parking facilities, and public street improvements.
