Title:  Civil Designer/Drafter

Job description

RMES, Rocky Mountain Engineering and Surveying, located in Pocatello, Id, is seeking a self-driven Civil Designer (CAD Drafter) to join our staff. The successful applicant has knowledge of being able to create civil construction drawings from field data according to standard engineering principals, take directions and follow up with clients.


The successful candidate will provide drafting and design services on various civil engineering projects. This position will include preparation of plans, profiles, sections and detail drawings related to civil/environmental engineering work using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The job will require the ability to gather data from existing drawings, create rough sketches, surveys, and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures; work closely with other Designer/Drafters and Engineers to ensure a coordinated design; operation of CADD work stations, plotters, printers, and other associated equipment to support the preparation of designs for engineering projects; development and plotting of maps showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles and cross-sections; and support preparation of engineering reports, cost estimates, specifications, and construction schedules.

Job Description

RMES, Rocky Mountain Engineering and Surveying, located in Pocatello, Id, is seeking a self-driven Civil Engineer to join our staff. As part of our Civil Engineering Design Team, you will primarily provide management and support for all phases of projects including planning, design and construction of our civil engineering projects. We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate proficiency in preparing construction drawings with AutoCAD Civil 3D software.

This position consists of working on a wide variety of challenging projects such as site surveys, budgets, scheduling, construction, as well as on-site observation. You will build and maintain important relationships with regulators, clients, subcontractors, and other team members at RMES.

Professional Requirements

RMES, a leading engineering, planning and environmental sciences firm, is seeking a Land Survey Analyst to join our Pocatello, Idaho Civil Engineering Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, well-rounded Surveyor to expand our survey presence in Pocatello; build new client relationships, manage and deliver projects, and mentor staff.

The Survey Analyst is responsible for performing technical work in survey control, boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way engineering, and construction surveying services for public and private clients.


Demonstrate knowledge of using Civil 3D and AutoCAD software. Some field experience. Able to effectively communicate with team members working together on projects. Able to work outdoors. Understand the importance of proper use of surveying instruments including maintenance, cleanliness and protection during use, transportation and storage.
